			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In an age where we find that <strong>modern web design</strong> and development becoming more and more important we also realise that the quality of our work is the number one priority. Even the smallest of business need a <strong>good website</strong> to retain their current customers. It also helps their current customers to quickly find contact numbers, email address and directions to the offices of the company. Not to mention that it would help current clients refer friends directly to the website thereby increasing <strong>word of mouth marketing</strong> which to date remains the best <em>source of marketing</em> for any type of business.</p>
<p><span id="more-945"></span></p>
<p><strong>Small business websites</strong> do not necessarily have to be expensive or explicitly large. Selling your product and or service to the client or potential client is what matters the most and therefore the web site should be directly to the point and focus on the needs and analysis of what the client expects.</p>
<p>There are numerous ways that a <strong>small business web site</strong> can be <em>developed</em> and <em>designed</em> and then, once completion of design and all touch ups are made, the marketing can begin. Including <strong>marketing techniques</strong> such as <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.proniit.co.za//goto/http://www.searchengineoptimization.za.net" title="Search Engine Optimization" ><strong>Search Engine Optimization</strong></a>, <strong><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.proniit.co.za//goto/http://www.socialpr.co.za" title="Social Media Marketing and Optimization with Social Public Relations" >Social Media Marketing and Optimization</a>,</strong> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.adwordsadvertising.co.za/" title="Managed Google AdWords Advertising Campaigns" ><strong>Managed Google AdWords Campaigns</strong></a> and <a target="_blank" href="http://www.internetadvertiseonline.za.net" title="Banner Advertising" ><strong>Banner Advertising</strong></a> can all help make the company more visible and desirable to potential clients.</p>

   var m3_r = Math.floor(Math.random()*99999999999);
   if (!document.MAX_used) document.MAX_used = ',';
   document.write ("<scr"+"ipt type='text/javascript' src='"+m3_u); document.write ("?zoneid=1"); document.write ('&amp;cb=' + m3_r); if (document.MAX_used != ',') document.write ("&amp;exclude=" + document.MAX_used); document.write (document.charset ? <p><em>Marketing</em> is a very important aspect of all <em>business</em> whether they are large or small. Gone are the days when business cards were necessary. Today people just throw them away! Rather choose a <em>simple</em> and <em>easy domain name</em> to remember and just tell people or email it to them. You could also make <em>small stickers, fridge magnets, pens, calendars</em> and the like for <em>promotion</em> of your <strong>website</strong> and your <em>business</em> both <span style="text-decoration: underline;">online and offline</span>. These are all <span style="text-decoration: underline;">affordable techniques</span> that ensure that you can make the most of your business efforts and become more <em>acquainted</em> with the marketing of your business.</p>
<p>If you decide that you would like your business to at least have a <strong>domain name</strong> then you should talk to a <strong>web designer</strong> and or <strong>developer</strong> to have it <strong>registered</strong> for you so that you can then go ahead and start using an email address at your <strong>personalised domain name</strong>. It is very unprofessional to be using an email address for a provider like Gmail or Yahoo! for your business purposes.</p>
<p><!--/* OpenX Javascript Tag v2.8.3 */--></p>
<p><script type="text/javascript">// <![CDATA[
//<![CDATA[
   var m3_u = (location.protocol=='https:'?'https://www.proniit.za.net/www/delivery/ajs.php':'http://www.proniit.za.net/www/delivery/ajs.php');
   var m3_r = Math.floor(Math.random()*99999999999);
   if (!document.MAX_used) document.MAX_used = ',';
   document.write ("<scr"+"ipt type='text/javascript' src='"+m3_u);    document.write ("?zoneid=1");    document.write ('&amp;cb=' + m3_r);    if (document.MAX_used != ',') document.write ("&amp;exclude=" + document.MAX_used);    document.write (document.charset ? '&amp;charset='+document.charset : (document.characterSet ? '&amp;charset='+document.characterSet : ''));    document.write ("&amp;loc=" + escape(window.location));    if (document.referrer) document.write ("&amp;referer=" + escape(document.referrer));    if (document.context) document.write ("&#038;context=" + escape(document.context));    if (document.mmm_fo) document.write ("&amp;mmm_fo=1");    document.write ("'><\/scr"+"ipt>");
//
// ]]&gt;</script><noscript><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.proniit.co.za//goto/http://www.proniit.za.net/www/delivery/ck.php?n=aa2df244&amp;cb=INSERT_RANDOM_NUMBER_HERE"  target='_blank'><img src='http://www.proniit.za.net/www/delivery/avw.php?zoneid=1&amp;cb=INSERT_RANDOM_NUMBER_HERE&amp;n=aa2df244' border='0' alt='' /></a></noscript></p>
<p>A <strong>professional web designer and developer</strong> would be able to properly ensure that you get all the right information that you need to make your <em>business presence online</em> a <strong>successful one</strong>. If finances are low then you could negotiate a <em>payment plan</em> with your <strong>web developer</strong> and ensure that you get the work that you need done on your website fully up to date.</p>
<p>The information provided here is the opinion of me and I am delighted to say that whenever I develop a site for clients I find that they are completely satisfied because they know that they are getting their monies worth.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today I am sharing a simple chart on effectively gaining search engine ranking. All the chart shows is the various methods that can be used to help make your site more favourable to search engines. Feel free to print it out and post someone near your desk so that you always have a reminder of what makes a great SEO.</p>
<p>[download id="2"]</p>
<p>SEO comes with quality content and an understanding on how you can promote your work and online presence. I also have a small chart of top social networking sites to utilize in order to help you gain higher rankings in search engines below.</p>
<p>[download id="3"]</p>
<p><strong>Social media marketing and search engine optimization are closely related</strong> and together help websites gain authority. You should always remember that if you offer up useless information then your website will probably never rank well no matter what you try. Keeping your content simple, easy to navigate and to the point you will bring in more users and have a greater chance of having your work noticed and shared or recommended to other internet users and this is precisely what Social Media and Search Engines are about.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It’s often been blogged that having keywords in titles is of paramount importance to your search engine ranking. As true as this maybe – people also forget that their content needs to actually be appealing and start to bring in traffic that is interested in what you have to say.</p>
<p><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.proniit.co.za//goto/http://proniit.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/click-distribution-serp.jpg"  rel="shadowbox[post-713];player=img;" title="click-distribution-serp"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-715" title="click-distribution-serp" src="http://proniit.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/click-distribution-serp.jpg" alt="click-distribution-serp" width="451" height="420" /></a></p>
<p><span id="more-713"></span></p>
<p>There are literally millions of blogs world wide on almost every topic imaginable and they all have something to say. However, it’s the ones that are deemed most USEFUL by the public that truly get the attention of search engines.</p>
<p>A mild indication if success can be garnered through website traffic analytics which ultimately show you the success or failure of a chosen topic. Rare niches are also a great way to ensure sustained traffic. It is also important to remember that traffic volume is not as important as traffic QUALITY especially when you have a product to sell on a website or a service to provide to the online public.</p>
<p>Having specific content written for your own usage within a niche brings a certain personality appeal to your overall online presence and can greatly magnify the interest that is gained by your website visitors.</p>
<p>Almost any that I write here will inevitably be redundant. Everything has been said. The point is to say it better than anyone else and presto! You have the highest ranking pages in any website engine.*</p>
<p>*Disclaimer – you need to properly market it first! &#8211; Social Media, Search Engine Optimization, Article Marketing and the like will all help to bring you to the top of pages that are essential to the survival of your online presence.</p>

<p>Speaking from experience, Search Engine Optimization can go sour very quickly. When I realized just how important it is to the survival of not just my business but my very being, I quickly began to set a direction for the process and have come up with a few Web Task Sheets. I call them that because they give me a complete understanding of what I need to keep doing in order to keep ranking well. I am not talking about ranking number one on Google but rather about ranking well enough to get my companies and ideas out into the world.</p>
<p>It takes time and concentration and is a rather demanding job which only becomes encouraging when there are real results to look at.</p>
<p><span id="more-698"></span></p>
<p><script type="text/javascript">// <![CDATA[
 google_ad_client = "pub-1580129458799088"; /* 468x60, created 6/14/09 */ google_ad_slot = "4252380589"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 60;

<p>SEO can quickly turn sour when you stop paying attention to all the things that you should be doing namely:</p>
<ul>
<li>Blog commenting,</li>
<li>Article writing,</li>
<li>Forum involvement;</li>
<li>Social media presence and;</li>
<li>Backlink building.</li>
</ul>
<p>Some of my competitors are giants in the chosen niches but I still persist to rank well or sometimes outrank completely.</p>
<p>I have added the information from one of my web task sheets. This outlays a few important first steps in setting up a site and beginning to market it from scratch. I hope that it is useful to those who find it.</p>
<p>Although this is targeted more towards an installation of WordPress, it indeed can be used for just about anything that you need to market online with the exception of a few.</p>
<ol>
<li>Site Name</li>
<li>Site URL</li>
<li>Amatomu – blogosphere listing</li>
<li>Technorati Blog Claiming – blogosphere listing</li>
<li>Afrigator – blogosphere listing</li>
<li>Blog Catalogue – blogosphere listing</li>
<li>Webmaster Tools &#8211; Google</li>
<li>Web Master Tools – Yahoo Site Explorer</li>
<li>Web Master Tools &#8211; Windows Live</li>
<li>Installed Analytics</li>
<li>Ping Services – added to WP’s Writing settings</li>
<li>RSS Submission _ I use an OpenSource program named Allscoop RSS Announcer</li>
<li>Directory Submission via WebCEO &amp; Monitoring + Setup</li>
<li>DMOZ Listing?</li>
<li>FeedBurner  Setup</li>
<li>Keyword Analysis</li>
<li>Adsense Tracking Code via Analytics</li>
<li>Twitter Page</li>
<li>Plugins</li>
<li>Facebook Fan Page</li>
<li>Traffic Synergy Approval – Affiliate Program</li>
<li>Facebook &amp; Twitter Linkage</li>
<li>Advertising Database Setup</li>
<li>Commission Junction Addition</li>
</ol>
<p>Well those would be the first steps to ensure that there is consistent traffic flow. In my next post I will detail the everyday continuos optimization work flow that I use to keep ranking well.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It has become increasingly difficult to get to the top of the major search engines in recent years as the likes of Google and Yahoo! have changed their criteria for how they rank websites. Many old techniques such as metatags and reciprocal links have lost their effectiveness. However, despite these changes, article submission remains one of the most effective ways to gain incoming links that will boost your website&#8217;s popularity among the major search engines.</p>
<p>While there are many other aspects to search engine optimization (SEO), article submission can be a cheap and effective way to help you get that coveted spot on the first page of the search engine results for keywords relating to your business.</p>
<p><span id="more-657"></span></p>
<p><script type="text/javascript">// <![CDATA[
 google_ad_client = "pub-1580129458799088"; /* 468x60, created 6/14/09 */ google_ad_slot = "4252380589"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 60;
// ]]&gt;</script><br />
<script src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js" type="text/javascript">
</script></p>
<p>First let&#8217;s look at how article marketing works in relation to improving SEO. Basically, every time a link to your website is published on another website your popularity with the search engines increases. These are known as backlinks. In every marketing article you submit to an article directory you can include a resource box with information about you or your product, and a backlink to your website.</p>
<p>So, even just by submitting to article directories you are already increasing the number of backlinks to your website. However, the real value from submitting these articles is that they can be picked up and published anywhere on the web. Every time an article is published you get another backlink to your website. If your articles are published enough times you could see your search engine page ranking rocket. Bear in mind though, that the effectiveness of your campaign will depend on where the articles appear. A backlink from a website that itself has a high search engine page ranking will carry more weight than a backlink from a site with a poor ranking.</p>
<p><strong>Keywords vs quality</strong></p>
<p>Carefully choosing keywords is an essential part of article marketing for a number of reasons. First, you want your articles to be easily found in article directories. If they remain buried under similar articles they will never be published on other websites and your efforts will have been wasted.</p>
<p>Also, you want your articles to get good results on the search engines themselves. If your articles find their way onto the front pages of the search engines you will increase exposure to your website or product, and increase your reputation as an article writer.</p>
<p>However, there is more to successful article marketing than keywords. There has been an ongoing difference of opinion among SEO experts as to whether the quality of articles can be sacrificed for the sake of high keyword density within the text. While it is important to put keywords in the text to help with SEO, quality content is king when it comes to article marketing.</p>
<p>The main aim of article marketing is to get your articles published on as many websites as possible. Quality content is at a premium on the internet so if you can provide good articles that people want to read you will be successful. If you stuff your articles with keywords websites will not publish them and readers will rarely read beyond the first paragraph. So, keep keywords to about two per every 100 words of text and do not let them disrupt the flow and the meaning of the article.</p>
<p><strong>Know your neighbor</strong></p>
<p>The most successful article marketers are the ones who gain a reputation as experts in their chosen field, so try to find your niche and work to your strengths. If you write authoratively and enthusiastically about a subject that you know about you are much more likely to attract readers.</p>
<p>If, for example, you have a website that sells Mac software you could write about new releases and trends in this field. However, you could also boost your profile by becoming involved in the general online Mac community by posting on forums or even creating your own blog. These can provide extra opportunities for creating backlinks and driving traffic to your website, and as you become better known in your field you will find your articles will be more used more often and more widely.</p>
<p>New Web 2.0 social bookmarking websites are also giving article marketers new opportunities for improving SEO and increasing traffic to their website. If you come up with an article you think could be very popular on the web you could publish it on your website and submit it to websites like Digg and Reddit. If it gains popularity on these sites it could go viral and bring thousands of hits to your site.</p>
<p><script type="text/javascript">// <![CDATA[
 google_ad_client = "pub-1580129458799088"; /* 336x280, created 6/29/09 */ google_ad_slot = "0289477569"; google_ad_width = 336; google_ad_height = 280;
// ]]&gt;</script><br />
<script src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js" type="text/javascript">

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Online courses, or email courses are becoming an increasingly popular way for savvy Internet marketers to promote their products and services. Online courses or email courses essentially include short online presentations or emails which include insightful information on a particular niche subject.</p>
<p>These courses are usually offered in multiple, short segments to keep the students interested in the topic. This type of advertising serves a useful purpose and many of the participants do not even realize they are being subjected to a marketing campaign. This article will discuss creating and distributing an online or email course for the purposes of advertising your business.</p>
<p><span id="more-650"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><script type="text/javascript">// <![CDATA[
 google_ad_client = "pub-1580129458799088"; /* 468x60, created 6/14/09 */ google_ad_slot = "4252380589"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 60;
// ]]&gt;</script><br />
<script src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js" type="text/javascript">
</script></p>
<p>The creation of an online course of an email course should begin with a solid idea for a series of educational articles which pertain to your business and will be of interest to your potential customers. Educational email courses can sometimes be sold for profit themselves but if you are interested in using the courses as marketing tools you will most likely be offering these courses free of charge in an effort to entice potential customers to purchase your products or services.</p>
<p>Determining the topic of your courses is very important because it can dictate the success of your marketing effort. Consider an online retailer of running shoes. This business owner may want to develop a series of email courses on subjects such as training for a marathon, preventing injuries, increasing speed and running for fun. Each of these courses may contain a few segments which offer different perspectives on the subject.</p>
<p>These courses are ideal for this business because they are subjects which are likely to be of interest to the customers of the business. Likewise a real estate agent may opt to offer email courses on subjects such as understanding mortgage options, finding a lender or house hunting. Again these are all subjects which are likely to be of interest to the real estate agents clients.</p>
<p>The distribution list for your online or email courses should mostly include members of your target audience. This can be achieved by either offering the course as a download online where only interested Internet users will partake in the course or only emailing the course to recipients who have specifically expressed an interest in receiving more information about your products and services and have submitted their email address for this purpose.</p>
<p>Once you decide on a subject for your online or email course, seek out a qualified writer to create the content for your online or email course. This will help to give your copy a more professional appearance.</p>
<p>The writer can assist you by creating copy which is informative and useful to your readers but is also well written, clear, concise and easy to understand. If your niche topic is highly specialized you might have to provide the writer with product information as well as research materials to ensure the content is informative and accurate. Additionally, you should review the content once it is completed to verify the accuracy.</p>
<p>When distributing your email course or launching your online course, it is helpful to request feedback from the users as the conclusion of the course. This is completely voluntary but when users respond they can provide you with useful feedback which will be extremely helpful if you intend to launch a similar marketing campaign in the future.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><script type="text/javascript">// <![CDATA[

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>When you compare most of the options available for promoting your business, it&#8217;s clear that the world wide web offers many attractive benefits and possibilities for businesses to not only create greater exposure for their products and services, but also to leverage the business owner&#8217;s time and effort.</div>
<div>
<p><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.proniit.co.za//goto/http://proniit.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/corporate-blog-development-management.jpg"  rel="shadowbox[post-543];player=img;" title="corporate-blog-development-management"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-544" style="border: 0pt none;" title="corporate-blog-development-management" src="http://www.proniit.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/corporate-blog-development-management-300x225.jpg" alt="corporate-blog-development-management" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>There is a smart, cheap, best, easy and fast solution. It&#8217;s called a business blog.</p>
<p>Some of the immediate advantages a blog offers businesses over regular, static web sites, are a smarter content publishing and management platform, more direct involvement with their customers, built-in capabilities like RSS feeds and search engine notification, and greater control and flexibility over the way content is managed.</p>
<p><span id="more-543"></span></p>
<p>Plus, it is way easier to promote and grow your business online using a blog, than it is using a website if you know how. Not to mention the fact that your promotional efforts can have a longer lifetime and give you greater exposure than traditional advertising media like newspaper or radio ads. (In fact, you can combine these, for example, making your current promotion be the home page of your blog, then sending radio or print ad visitors to your blog.)</p>
<p><span style="color: #ff6600;"><strong>What&#8217;s the difference between a business blog and a business website?</strong></span></p>
<p>You can make a business blog look and feel exactly like a website &#8211; in fact, many of the sites you are visiting right now are probably powered by blogging platforms like WordPress, instead of popular web design HTML applications like Frontpage or Dreamweaver. A significant difference, is that you don&#8217;t need to know web site coding language like HTML to run a business blog, or add and modify content on your site. You simply add content and publish. This makes business blogs a perfect online marketing tool for business owners.</p>
<p>Another important difference is that blogs allow you to have &#8220;conversations&#8221; and build interactive relationships with other people, where static web sites tend to be more of a &#8220;one-way&#8221; vehicle for presenting information to visitors.</p>
<p><span style="color: #ff6600;"><strong>What if you already have a web site?</strong></span></p>
<p>If you currently have a website that requires you to contact your web developer, web designer, web master or an IT savvy friend, nephew, niece or neighbor every time you want to make a change to your site, then you definitely need to consider adding a blog to your site. Simply install the blog in a subdirectory of your domain (e.g. yourdomain.com/blog), then promote your business using the blog and link your posts back to your site for more information about your products or services, to purchase, etc &#8230;</p>
<p>If you don&#8217;t have a website yet, then save yourself money on costly web development and a lot of hassle and just use a blog. With a blog, you can easily promote your business by adding regular posts and articles about a variety of different topics.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">Here are just some ideas for things you can write about your business, then post on your business blog:</span></strong></p>
<p>Product recalls Customer service information (e.g. how to ship product back, refund policies, etc.) FAQs Profiling customers Information your customers would find useful, educational, informative, entertaining, etc.New things coming soon to your business Profiling members of your team News about your industry Top 10 lists Product / Service tips (how to spot quality, how to avoid paying too much or being ripped off, etc ..)News about your own business Product / Service benefits</p>
<p>As you can see, there&#8217;s no shortage of content to write about when it comes to promoting your business.</p>
<p>Now &#8230; just getting a blog up and running is not really going to help you. You need to know how to configure it properly if you want to achieve the best results with the least effort.</p>
<p>Fortunately, there is a great resource I recommend you research in more detail if you are interested in knowing more about the benefits and advantages of using a business blog to help you promote your business and sell your products and services smarter. A company called SelfPublishWebcom offers two ways to help you set up a blog for your business that will not only get your site pages quickly indexed in Google and other major search engines (usually in as little as 2-3 days), but they show you how to fully configure it so that it becomes a powerful marketing tool for your business, with many automated built-in promotional features that you don&#8217;t even need to think about.</p>
<p><span style="color: #ff6600;"><strong>You just write about your business and the automated system running silently in the background goes to work for you.</strong></span></p>
<p>SelfPublishWebcom offers two options: They can fully install, set up and configure your business site / business blog for you and you&#8217;re then ready to go in as little as 4-5 working days, or, if you want to save several hundred dollars, you can purchase their complete &#8216;step-by-step&#8217; DIY video training tutorials package, which is done in a completely non-technical way so that anyone with basic computer skills (like the ability to cut and paste) can just watch over their shoulder and follow along as they show you how to get your own business blog up and running in 2 days or less.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve had a chance to fully review their offers and I thoroughly recommend the step-by-step video training tutorials they offer as a DIY cheaper alternative. You get access to a private Member&#8217;s Area where you can watch all of the training videos and download all of the materials, plus ongoing support. The videos are excellent and make everything really easy to follow, and the information is never overwhelming. You are only given what you need to know in order to get the next task done. Additional resources are provided in the member&#8217;s area, plus you get training emails, and access to a member&#8217;s forum.</p>
<p>In my opinion, the smartest option is to purchase the step-by-step video training tutorials (selling for less than $100 last time I checked), then assign the task of installing, setting up and configuring the site to somebody in your team if you don&#8217;t want to go through the tutorials yourself. Like I said earlier, the instructions and video tutorials are really easy to follow, so anyone can do it.</p></div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div style="text-align: justify;">At the heart of successful SEO is determining what keyword or keywords to use when optimizing a website. The prevalence of a specific word or phrase on a webpage is critical to influencing SERP (Search Engine Result pages) ranking. In most cases websites should be optimized for multiple keywords, and a simple way to do this is to optimize different sections or pages with different keywords.</div>
<div><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.proniit.co.za//goto/http://proniit.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/most-valuable-keywords.jpg"  rel="shadowbox[post-506];player=img;" title="most-valuable-keywords"><img class="size-medium wp-image-508 aligncenter" title="most-valuable-keywords" src="http://www.proniit.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/most-valuable-keywords-300x290.jpg" alt="most-valuable-keywords" width="300" height="290" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">Of course, there are exceptions to this approach.Below are some basic questions to ask when considering keywords to focus on. Once a keyword(s) is selected it should serve as the focus of a site&#8217;s SEO efforts.</div>
<div>
<p><span id="more-506"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><script type="text/javascript">// <![CDATA[
  google_ad_client = "pub-1580129458799088"; /* 468x60, created 6/14/09 */ google_ad_slot = "4252380589"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 60;
// ]]&gt;</script><br />
<script src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js" type="text/javascript">
</script></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #ff6600;"><em><strong>1. Does anyone search for the word on search engines?</strong></em></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">If the site is about an eating establishment, what words would people use to search for the site? Restaurant, café, diner&#8230; Does anyone use the word &#8220;eatery&#8221;?</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #ff6600;"><em><strong>2. Which words does the site&#8217;s target audience use?</strong></em></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Regional diction complicates keyword selection if a site is aimed at a large geographical area. For example, a housing site for the English-speaking world can use &#8220;apartment&#8221; and do well in the United States, but it wouldn&#8217;t do as well in other countries like the United Kingdom where &#8220;flat&#8221; is much more commonplace.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">One must consider more than just geography when selecting a keyword. There are many factors that influence how an audience might search for a website. If the target audience of a website about a specific chemical consists of people with a science background, it would be best to focus SEO on scientific keywords that this audience is likely to use. A different website may be marketing a medical drug made up of the exact same chemical. In this case the target audience would be the general public, and it is unlikely that this audience will use scientific words or phrases when using a search engine to learn about the pharmaceutical.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #ff6600;"><em><strong>3. How competitive is it to rank well with a specific keyword?</strong></em></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Ranking well on results pages for &#8220;restaurant&#8221; is very tough, since there are millions of sites for restaurants. While other words like &#8220;diner&#8221;, &#8220;café&#8221;, and &#8220;eatery&#8221; are still very common on websites, they are far less common than the word &#8220;restaurant.&#8221; It is therefore easier to influence the search engine rank of a restaurant website using these less-common words instead. Due to the difficulty of ranking high in search engine results for an extremely competitive keyword such as &#8220;restaurant&#8221;, SEO professionals will usually focus on more specific words or phrases. For instance, a local pizza restaurant does not want or need to appear in search engine results for everyone around the world who searches for the term &#8220;pizzeria&#8221;. If the local pizza restaurant is in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC, it would make a lot more sense to focus SEO efforts on phrases such as &#8220;Washington DC pizzeria&#8221; or &#8220;Georgetown pizzeria.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #ff6600;"><em><strong>4. How does one find out words that are commonly used by a specific audience?</strong></em></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">There are several ways to answer this question. For highly specialized sites, the SEO professional&#8217;s clients are often the best resource since they will know best what words are used in their specialized field. One useful tool is Google Suggest. Google Suggest lists the number of results that the search engine presents for a specific keyword. This can be helpful in determining the relative popularity of different keywords one thinks the target audience may use to find one&#8217;s site. Other tools include keyword selector tools that will read the pages on a website and suggest keywords to the SEO professional based on their prevalence and the presence of synonyms on the site&#8217;s other pages.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">A website&#8217;s traffic analytics program is a great resource for revealing what keywords people already use in search engines to locate one&#8217;s website.</p>
</div>
<p style="text-align: center;"><script type="text/javascript">// <![CDATA[
   google_ad_client = "pub-1580129458799088"; /* 336x280, created 6/29/09 */ google_ad_slot = "0289477569"; google_ad_width = 336; google_ad_height = 280;
// ]]&gt;</script><br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">One of the biggest obstacles that search marketing professionals face today is guarantees about end results with SEO, according to a poll we conducted a few months ago (Top 3 Reasons that Stop Businesses from Going Forward with SEO, Capture Commerce, 2009).</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.proniit.co.za//goto/http://proniit.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/seo1.jpg"  rel="shadowbox[post-468];player=img;"></a><a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.proniit.co.za//goto/http://proniit.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/seo2.jpg"  rel="shadowbox[post-468];player=img;" title="seo"><img class="size-full wp-image-473 aligncenter" title="seo" src="http://proniit.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/seo2.jpg" alt="seo" width="448" height="127" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<p style="text-align: justify;">To date, the one-question poll shows these as the top 3 of 16 choices:<br />
§    It’s difficult to make guarantees about end results – 11%<br />
§    They are uninformed and/or misinformed about the process – 11%<br />
§    They don’t realize how much money it costs – 11%</p>
<p><span id="more-468"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><script type="text/javascript">// <![CDATA[
 google_ad_client = "pub-1580129458799088"; /* 468x60, created 6/14/09 */ google_ad_slot = "4252380589"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 60;
// ]]&gt;</script><br />
<script src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js" type="text/javascript">
</script></p>
<blockquote>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #ff6600;"><strong>Most businesses don’t want an SEO guarantee about end results; they aren’t that naïve. What they are really asking for is credibility, experience and ethical business practices – the ingredients of a trust relationship.</strong></span></p>
</blockquote>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Most SEO professionals do not provide guarantees about rankings or end results for good reason: no one controls Google’s algo but Google. What search marketing pros can guarantee is a plan and implementation that has proven to bring good rankings in the past. In addition, SEO professionals should be able to guarantee:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">§    Indexing of a site’s pages<br />
§    Targeting appropriate search terms<br />
§    Producing a content development plan<br />
§    Programming web analytics to track results<br />
§    Developing a link-building strategy<br />
§    Setting realistic rank expectations and timeframe based on experience</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">But how can SEO providers better handle those businesses who ask for a guarantee?<br />
Businesses want reasonable ROI from their investment; if they cannot picture a successful end result while conversing with a provider, there’s going to be a lack of confidence in your ability to produce results.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #ff6600;"><strong>Two Scenarios:</strong></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Many businesses know SEO, but they don’t have the time to execute an SEO plan. What they are most concerned about boils down to:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">1.    Confidence in your ability to deliver results<br />
2.    Fear of choosing the wrong provider, which could mean loss of investment, lost time, lost opportunity, or even loss of their position or job.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Some businesses don’t know SEO and may have been burned before by someone who did guarantee results. They may need lots of basic education about SEO. These businesses are most concerned about:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">1.    Confidence in your ability to deliver results<br />
2.    Fear of choosing the wrong provider, which could mean loss of investment, lost time, lost opportunity, or loss of their position or job.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Beginning to get the picture?</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">So how can SEO providers increase a prospect’s confidence in their ability and calm fears of negative consequences (which has far more value than an “SEO guarantee”)?</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">1.    Join an organization known for keeping members who are above-board, like SEMPO.<br />
2.    Provide clear case studies outlining before and after results, and what you did to overcome the ranking barriers. The more detailed the ROI data, the better your prospect can see their own business fitting in with yours.<br />
3.    Effective listening is the bottom line of trust. Ask good questions about expectations rather than offering unsolicited answers. One of my favorite questions is “What makes SEO a priority for you now?”<br />
4.    Investigate the concerns and fears of the prospect. Empathy is the currency of trust, giving insight into what others may be thinking or feeling. Empathy helps us understand why others are reacting to situations and it allows us to create bonds of trust. Learn who else is involved in the decision and arrange to talk with each of them.<br />
5.    Understand the risk control mechanism that’s in place. Most organizations have procurement or vetting processes. These buyers are motivated by financial risk, my position risk and personal credibility, among other factors. According to Enquiro’s Mapping The BuyerSphere study, some of the ways organizations control risk include:</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">§    Tapping past experience and approved vendors<br />
§    Word of mouth and the experience of others<br />
§    Asking existing (trusted) vendors<br />
§    Credibility of vendors (bigger is better, the vendor who does business with lots of big companies)<br />
§    Check out what they find online to make sure the right messaging is out there to deal with these risks<br />
§    Price</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Trust has been defined as “the willingness of a party (trustor) to be vulnerable to the actions of another party (trustee) based on the expectation that the trustee will perform an action important to the trustor, regardless of the trustor’s ability to monitor or control the trustee.” Trust is the expectation that people can rely on your word. It is built through integrity and consistency in relationships.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Building trust is the key to an “SEO guarantee” that fosters confidence in your ability and calms fears of negative consequences.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">As many already know, keyword research is a vitally important part of a website&#8217;s viability and long-term success. At least, where search engines are concerned. While keyword research itself is important &#8212; just as important, if not more important, is knowing how to extract the right information while you&#8217;re researching a particular keyword or a keyword market. While you can know the importance of keyword research, and then act upon that knowledge, it is possible to use the keyword research data improperly, and actually end up hurting yourself, and your website.<img class="alignright size-full wp-image-450" title="Keywords" src="http://proniit.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/AdwordsKeywordsTool-main_Full.jpg" alt="Keywords" width="328" height="164" /></p>

<blockquote><p><span style="color: #ff6600;"><strong>Separating truth from fiction</strong></span></p></blockquote>
<p style="text-align: justify;">For any keyword research tool that relies on real-time, or compiled, search queries, there is a real possibility that auto-generated queries are going to show up in those results. These &#8220;auto-generated queries&#8221; can skew the results of your keyword research, and may potentially give you false information. Now, these false positives, or even false results, won&#8217;t affect savvy keyword researchers, but they could hurt the new-to-the-game keyword researcher.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">We don&#8217;t mean to alarm you here, though. Any such abnormalities, or &#8220;skewed results&#8221; generally present themselves as obscure, long-tail keywords anyway, but it&#8217;s important to know that just because a keyword research tool gives you some data, this doesn&#8217;t inherently mean that it&#8217;s accurate and that you should act on it.</p>
<blockquote>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #ff6600;"><strong>Know what keyword research really is</strong></span></p>
</blockquote>
<p style="text-align: justify;">One of the most basic misunderstandings of what keyword research is sometimes causes the most damage for website owners who perform their own keyword research services. Most keyword research tools offer a relative gauge of the search marketing landscape &#8212; keyword research results are not typically meant to be absolutes.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">For many keyword tools, particularly the free keyword tools that are available online, they are meant to be used as comparison tools. By viewing keyword research this way, as a type of comparison tool, you will have a more accurate view of your keyword market, and it can help you to identify the best approach for your SEO and marketing campaigns. In other words, comparison keyword research is much more powerful, and accurate, than relying on the estimated search volume of a particular keyword alone.</p>
<blockquote>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #ff6600;"><strong>Know the difference between &#8220;information&#8221; keywords and &#8220;buying&#8221; keywords</strong></span></p>
</blockquote>
<p style="text-align: justify;">If you&#8217;re running a for-profit website, one of the most important aspects of your keyword research is that you work to target keywords that will bring in buyers, not just browsers. Sure, people looking for information sometimes will buy, but the foundation of your website&#8217;s search engine optimization and marketing keywords should be built to attract buyers.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">If your website&#8217;s on-page optimization, and off-page marketing strategies, focus on &#8220;information-sharing&#8221; keywords and phrases, that is going to affect your conversions and overall profitability. While it&#8217;s important to incorporate excellent information on your website, and thus may necessitate a measure of information-focused keyphrases, just know that if you aspire to make money with your website, your keyword list should reflect this.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">While keyword research is a necessary part of maintaining a successful website today, and many website owners would benefit from learning how to perform keyword research themselves, it&#8217;s important that you perform your keyword research properly. If you&#8217;re new to the game, you might want to consider hiring a keyword research service to help you out initially, so that you can see how it&#8217;s done, and you can hopefully pick up a few cues so that you avoid the dangers of improper keyword research yourself.</p>
